Khin Lay Theint
Daw Khin Lay Theint was born of U Tun Myint Tun and Daw Tin Yi in Mawlamyine on 14 December 1947. She started her education at ‘Mortin Lane Judson High School’ from the kindergarten till the ninth standard. She matriculated from No.3, Girls’ High School, Mawlamyine. She obtained her B.Sc. degree (honours) in Ecology and Bio-geography. After that she continued her studies at Yangon Arts and Science University and earned M.Sc. (Final Part I) in Biology. She became a manager of Tawwintun Film Company founded by his father in 1970 and worked with it until her father passed away.
She got married to U Tin Win Shin in 1974, giving birth to two daughters Ma Lay Kyi Phyu @ Kyi Phyu Shin and Ma Nu Shwe Yi and one son Maung Nanda Ye Yint Win. She attended the 1/84 Basic film Directing course patronized by the Organizing Committee of Film Council and started her screenwriter career by seripting for the movie entitled ‘Ratana’ (Gems) directed by Director Aung Myint Myat for Nyunt Myanmar film, and starred by Pyae Nyein, Tun Tun Naing, Myat Lay and May Sweet. After founding her own video production ‘Tawwintun’, she scripted ad directed two video movies entitled ‘Ginsein’ and Meitthalin’ and ‘Gangamala Ye The Zat’. She was an executive member for the story and script layer from 1991 to 1993. And then she wrote a sereenplay entitled ‘Hnalonethar Hlyowhetkan’ for the movie, produced by Tawwintun Film Company in 1999, directed by Kyi Phyu Sin. She has been an executive member for Myanmar Film Council from 2005 untill now.
Her filmscripts include ‘The secret cell within heart’, ‘Creating a flower’, ‘I won’t hate if
you love’, ‘Alluring Sea and Attracting Moon’, and ‘the Great Victory of the Beloved
